and who said mondays were drab? [June 24]

Hiya y'all!

So, just as most mondays do, this morning began with precious Riley. He seemed to be feeling so much better, and I am so grateful that he came today! He is such a beautiful little light, and I hope that he grows up to know his Savior and be able to give his energy and enthusiasm to work for God. We played legos for a good bit until he got bored of it and decided he wanted to read this book called The Monster Hunt. So we flipped the pages all around and sought out the monster on every page. On the very back of the book were a picture of the monster's shoes (he ends up being someone in a costume), but poor Riley kept going "His feet has popped off!" It was too cute. He then started speaking about The Wiggles, so I got out my laptop and we had a good time having a dance party to the wiggles. He kept saying I was doing it wrong and would have to correct me. It was pretty funny. I really enjoy my time with him! He is just darling! Unfortunately (my unfortune, not his) he's going on holiday next week. He's going to go fishing with his family. Riley got so excited that his voice became really high-pitched and he was laughing between every word. I could hardly understand him. But he did give me a hug good-bye, so that will have to hold me over for the week.

Then began my sabbath! Dottie is currently away in the Ukraine, so Bobby and I decided to hike over the mountain-hill and go from Rhydfylin to Caerphilly. It was so much fun and such a relaxing use of our time! We got to talking about everything and anything under the sun. It was such a beautiful day! Halfway up the first part of the hike some guy stopped us and asked us some questions about what brought us over to Wales and he asked where the Rhydfylin church was. I hope he shows up sometime on a sunday. It'd be neat to see him there! We also walked through this sheep pasture and, geeze, these sheep are huge! And they're absolutely everywhere! Apparently there are nearly 9 million sheep in Wales although just a few years ago it was nearly 12 million. Do note there are only 3 million people. So that's about 3 sheep per person!!

Bobby sneaking up on the sleeping sheep. He actually got her!

Then when we hit the next part of our journey we came to the pub and the church. Now, if you were in some of the churches we visited to during our fundraising, Bobby would have told you about his previous hike up the mountain to the same spot. He stressed in that story that the pub was open and this beautiful, old stone church chained shut.

But not so today!

We climbed to the top of this mountain and the pub is closed but the church is open!!! We went inside the church which now has fresh bibles and hymnals in all the pews and bought a postcard from their table. Oh it was so beautiful. Then as we were leaving, I asked if we could sing a song. So, as a sort of blessing I guess, we sang "The Church's One Foundation is Jesus Christ her Lord." Afterward we sang a few more hymns and prayed over the church. Be in prayer for the churches in Wales. It seems like God i doing something wonderful here, and most of them seem to be opening or growing. I'm not sure what God is up to, but it's definitely something good!

Then we finished our hike up at the triangulation point but there were horses and ponies everywhere! Oh they were so pretty! A few came up and talked to us. It was absolutely brilliant.

and then we found some cows.

The walk down took forever it seemed (especially since neither of us really knew the way). But we made it in time for Tea and for our ride to Cwmbran.

"We're not lost! We're on an adventure!"

Now, in Cwmbran there has been a revival. It's been going on for 70 something days, and they describe it as something like the Spirit falling and they have decided to keep meeting until the Spirit stops falling. It was definitely one of the most interesting things I've seen, and I'm not quite sure how to process it all. In either accord, pray for these churches. While they are trying to follow up with those that are coming to faith every night, I am weary that they are not fulfilling the last part of the great commission: "and teaching them to do everything that I have commanded you to do." I am fearful that they are sowing their seeds among the rocks and because they have no root they whither when trials come. So pray earnestly for these churches that they will be able to hone in their passion and desire to disciple and studying of the word that they might bear good fruit and have solid roots that grow deep and be able to teach this country the Gospel. It was so good to see their passion for Jesus as their Savior. There was even a focus on us as slaves of righteousness, which was beautiful to hear in this church. But pray for them earnestly. There are great things happening in Wales right now, but we must be certain that we are planting deep roots that will withstand trials and temptations. Otherwise this will simply fade away and leave Wales more empty than before (which seemed to happen after the last revival in 1904).

Thank you for your prayers. After today's rest I am feeling more energized and ready to continue the great work that God has in store for me this week. My heart is resting with my Thursday Night youth group. I am so excited for them, but pray for them. They are all dealing with so much in their lives. I am simply hoping and praying that they will hear God's word and take that leap of faith and live the Gospel out in their lives.

Pray for me. This Friday I am telling the story of Peter to the Kid's Club group. Most of them have such a hard time listening and paying attention. Pray that God might work in and around their lives that they might come ready to listen. Pray that I will speak His word boldly and proclaim it truthfully to the children. I'm saddened to think that this time on Friday is the only time they get to hear the Word and, sometimes, the girls try to go to the Toilet so they don't have to hear His word. Be in prayer for them and for me.

Thank you for your support and your prayers. I appreciate you all.

Ta-ta!
