Hiya!
So, I'm pretty terrible at this whole updating every day thing. heh. Oh well.
Yesterday began with ladies' bible study at Kath's. Last week I learned in our rabbit trials that child bearing is terrible and scary, but kids are worth it. This week I learned boys are weird, they make women superior, but we can love them anyway. Best things ever! haha. But, on a more serious note, we talked about heaven and death and what heaven will be like (What we know it will be like at least), which was extremely encouraging. It's amazing to me how so little of Christians know nothing about heaven. Sure, I mean, it is a mystery. There is such mystery to it, but it's as if they forget that the Bible does teach us enough! We will, first off, be instantly in heaven after we die. Then, when Christ returns, we will have our bodily resurrection and no longer be spirits floating around. We will live on earth, not in heaven, and we will be eternally enjoying life without death or crying or mourning or pain for the old order of things have passed away! We will be with our Savior forever worshiping by living without sin. Still learning. Still eating delicious food. Still building relationships. Still growing close to our God! It is beyond comprehension, but we can still know some! We should teach more on heaven. I mean, does the Scripture not say to focus our mind on the things of heaven and not on earthly things? Or again that our citizenship is in heaven and we are to not be a part of this world? Or that our hope is fulfilled when we become joined with Christ, our Bridegroom, when he comes to get us? Everything is pointing forward. Why aren't we?
Then after bible study I began preparing my talk for Friday. Be in prayer over the Kids' club. I want them to learn about Peter and how we, too, just as he did, need to make a decision to follow Christ and become fishers of men. Pray also for me that I might speak well and be filled with the Holy Spirit and not worry about what to say, for he will be working in me.
That night (I can't remember what I did that afternoon) we had a joint Prayer Meeting with the other churches in Caerphilly. We had 13 show up to the prayer meeting, and we simply prayer for the world at large, for Caerphilly, for Wales, and for the individual churches who met. It was absolutely mind blowing to see churches meet and work together: some baptist, some methodist, some welsh envagelical something or other, and little me the presbyterian. It didn't matter about denomination, only that the church universal was coming together and working together for the great cause. As one of the older gentlemen said: "Thank you Lord that we have come here united for we are all going the same way." Amen. Thank you, Jesus, for being the only way to Salvation and the way in which all the brothers can come together and pray.
I wish that was true of America too. I mean, we have a little church just beside my home church, and I don't even know the name o that church. I don' know when they meet. I don't know who goes to that church. I don't know anything about them and their struggles or how we could help. I wish that we would cross-denominations and begin praying with one another. "Behold how good and pleasant it is when brother's dwell in unity!"
Pray that this might come true. Pray earnestly. This is what, I think, our heavenly Father would want of us: to dwell together in unity.
Today began with another round of Mother and Toddlers. I keep meaning to bring my phone to take a picture of the chaos, but I haven't quite mustered the courage to ask if that's okay. Today we had 3 new mothers come, so we had a total of 31 children in the group (do note that these children are 4 and under, I believe). Most of the time I played with Barnaby and Molly although a little girl named Amelia joined us for a "picnic." Absolutely wonderful. Maci is still so iffy about me, but she played a little bit with me today which was good. We unfortunately ran out of time, so I didn't get to teach them an American nursery rhyme. Kathy sugested Yankee Doodle, and I was so pumped to teach them! I had been singing it all week! Ah well.
After that I had a meeting with Raf and Claire and Pete. Then I went walking around the town to find supplies for Friday (I'm gonna dress up like Peter! I'm even crocheting myself a beard. hahaha.). Then I had another meeting with Raf and Claire and Pete and Kath. Lots of meetings today. Please pray for this church. We have so much good going on at the moment, but everyone seems to busy!!! Pray that we might keep our eyes on Jesus during this time and rest well when we can.
After that I went over to Rhydfylin for the Crusader group that meets on Wednesdays. We took 6 girls to Ponty park and just had a swell time playing and getting to know the kids. This little boy came to play halfway through with his friend, ad he happened to be a boy Bobby met on the G-SUS bus! How crazy! Pray that he might get integrated into the church and learn more about Christ through that growing relationship with Bobby. He and his friend seemed so keen to hang out with us at the park today. I just hope he remain a contact after that!!! Keep those boys in your prayers, please.
Thank you for your prayers and support. I am so excited to see what God has in store for us over these next four weeks. God is definitely doing a wonderful work in Wales. He is moving here, and I am so glad to be a part of it!!! I appreciate you all.
Ta-ta!
