Day of preparation [June 11]

Hello everyone!

Last week I forgot to share something with you! In the UK, Coca-cola is doing this awesome thing; they're selling coke bottles with your name on it. And guess what? My host family found me one!! It's fantastic. AND they have REECE'S over here! :D So excited about that one. Brian and Elizabeth bought me a stash, and my wonderful Bobby surprised me with one last week. They come in packets of 3 over here! Best thing ever.

Anyway. Tuesdays are now going to be my major planning day (and catch up from the weekend day). However, Tuesdays are also filled with Bible Study with some of the women from my church. I got up this morning at about 10 (glorious, glorious hour) and caught up on paperwork and blogs until 1 when I headed two doors down to Jane's house. As I told you last week we're reading this book called God on Mute and each time one of the ladies  tells us a bit about her life.

It's tragic.

She got engaged to this guy named Niel and two weeks after their engagement he is diagnosed with cancer. The treatment was absolutely terrible (he had to lose an eye because the cancer was behind it) and the chemotherapy left him severely weak and in the last days of his life he couldn't speak; he could only write. 7 months after their engagement Niel passed away with only her minister in the room. She and Niel's mom were too late.

Then sometime later in life she married a guy named Jason who then left her. This year would be their 10th anniversary. She talked last week about how it was such a dark time because her older son went through a really rough time with it. (Why isn't God answering me? Doesn't God care? Why us? Why doesn't dad love us? etc)

Yet. Even in that hardship, this woman is simple in love with her Lord. She doesn't know why, and she's praying for rest, but she is such a woman of faith. You can simply tell that whenever she tells her story, tragic though it may be, she can still see God moving in her life. She isn't bitter or undone by the events of her life. Instead, she's moving on and persevering in her faith because she has hope in her Savior. She is a beautiful woman.

After Bible Study I returned to my room and worked, literally, all day. I am giving an exhortation on Sunday during the Family Service on Hebrews 12, so I pretty much did my powerpoint all day. But now it's all done, and I'm really excited. AND, Daddy will love this, I found some chords to make my desk set up a little bit nicer to look at and easier to work at.

Pretty cool, eh? Yeah, it's facebook. I was watching the Hobbit Trailer as a break time today~

Pray for my sickness. I'm feeling better in my head, but my cough is getting worse. Jane, the lady who hosts the Tuesday Bible Study, gave me these wonderful cough drops, but they only seem to work when I have one in my mouth. I've pretty much eaten the whole bag in one day. Please pray hard. Tomorrow is Mother's and Toddlers and I go to the G-SUS bus later in the day. I would hate to be coughing all day while playing with the young ones.

Also, be in prayer that I might have a faith like the woman above. While I know we aren't supposed to compare ourselves to others, she is such a light and a glorious example of the true perseverance we are to have. Her faith is beautiful, and it is encouraging to me that even in this spiritually dark country, there are lights shining. And pray diligently for her. She has had such a hard life (someone said she was also adopted, so I don't even know half of her story!), but she does need rest time and again. She also needs encouragement from her savior just as we all do.

Thank you for your support and prayers. I appreciate each and every one of you.

Ta-ta!
