Hiya!
So, yesterday began with the women's bible study at Jane's house. It was simply a wonderful time although it seemed very emotional yesterday! I would ask you to pray for one of the ladies in our group. Her son had a stroke when he was just 18 months old and has faced terrible problems since. I don't know all of the details, but pray for her as a mother. She made the general comments that she hasn't been able to see God through t all and that she would give up even heaven itself, everything else too, if she could have her son back.
Pray that God might strengthen her and help her to realize that there is nothing in heaven but our God and no one on earth besides him. Pray that she might remember that her God is everything and that the trials of life are given to us for a reason. "Consider it pure joy my brothers when you face trials of many kinds for the testing of your faith develops perseverance and perseverance must finish its work so that you may be complete, not lacking anything." There is a reason for this despite the pain it is bringing. Help her know that God is worth more than a perfect child.
The rest of the afternoon was filled with planning and stuff. I am delivering a talk tomorrow on faith, so I've been pretty much working on that. All today and yesterday, actually (not much happens on tuesdays and wednesdays, apparently)!
Yesterday night I went to the pool with the family for a break, and we played marco-polo again. It was pretty fun although I'm pretty sure they don't really get the whole "it's a bad thing to be tagged." They'd rather be it which can be a little annoying. Oh well. Maybe they'll get it next week! haha.
Then this morning I had mother and toddlers again which was absolutely lush. Maci remembered me this week!!! She showed me a picture of her nan. Barnaby is simply amazing as always. I love his sweet spirit and his wonderful attitude. Another little girl named Molly pretty much dragged me around today when I wasn't working in the kitchen. She was pretty cute, I have to admit. And I just adored my time with Kate and Roisin and their friend, who I believe is named Leslie. I can't be certain, however. I got to hear a little about Kate's story, and I am just loving my time getting to know her on tuesdays and wednesdays. The Lord has certainly worked so much in her life, and I am just so excited to get to know these moms and children!
Next week I was asked to bring an american nursery rhyme, but I can't think of any! Only my VBS songs like The Tree Song and The Duck Song. I'm thinking about just doing the Tree Song. (:
Pray for me about tomorrow. My brain just loves to stress out about talks like this, and it's harder when they only give me 10 minutes to talk about faith. It's so incredibly broad! How on earth am I supposed to fit what they need to know about faith in only 10 minutes, sometimes less? Gracious me. But, the Lord shall work through me. But pray for these youth! In my faith talk I'm going to have a portion talking about how do they receive faith (faith comes from hearing the word of God, it is a gift from God, and Jesus is the founder of their faith) but that they also need to make a choice (choose on this day whom you will serve). Pray that the Holy Spirit will work in their lives to have them pay attention and actually be listening. They have such a hard time paying attention! But be praying for them and over them. Our God is a powerful God and he tells us that he draws his children to himself like the shepherd with his sheep. I just want all these kids who I'm falling in love with to come to know their Savior! Pray also that I won't be so focused on what I'm saying but on what the Holy Spirit is doing through me. I am but a slave, a worker of my God. To him be the glory, not I!
Thank you for your love, your prayers, and your support. I appreciate them greatly!!
