going going going [June 15]

Hiya!

Yesterday was a very, very long day. It was wonderfully good, yes, but still very long. I fell asleep on the couch friday night at about 12 only to be woken up and taken to bed at 2:30 or so. Then at 9:45 I got up to get ready to watch Rugby. The Lions are on this tour in Australia and, since I love rugby, I joined the men to watch the game. I was pretty much the only female and I'm sure they thought I was out of place, but it was still just wonderful to sit and watch Rugby with my Bobby and just have a wonderful time. Oh how I enjoy watching that sport!! (: Reminds me of my family (and Jim's) T-shirts when I played Rugby in high school. Too much fun.

Then after that was the Family Walk with Gateway Church. About 30 people showed up to go hike through the rain and the mud up and down this hill. It was absolutely awesome. The kids were pretty much obsessed with one of the church member's border collie who is pregnant at the moment. And they were all complaining about the rain! Ha! I was just so thankful we weren't hiking in Georgia. What is it, 97+ over there now? So thankful for this welsh weather! Even with it raining every day!

Most of the families came over to Claire and Kelvin's for chips which was incredibly fun. I got the girls playing a game of Phase 10 while the boys watched/played Fifa on the Xbox. Most of the younger girls dropped out on the third phase, but I got to have some good talking with Abby, Avery (her name means snow in welsh! how cool!!), Hannah, and Elinor. It was such a good time. Abby and Avery even left and then came back 10 minutes later which I was so thankful for! I am very thankful for the relationship I'm building with Abby (she came last week to the thursday night youth group and is planning to come from now on which I'm simply thrilled about)! Unfortunately Avery can't make it because she has band practice that night or something similar to band practice. Hopefully Abby will bring back Jasmine this week.

Then we skidaddled over to Rhydyfelen for Quiz night which was very fun. I wasn't much help at all, seeing as I know nothing but the Bible and some basic questions (I even got the abbreviation for IA wrong. Apparently that's Iowa not Indiana!! ah well). Sad to say my team came in dead last and, what doesn't surprise me, Bobby's team came in first!! The only reason he got Iowa right is because he doesn't read good. (He thought the question was what was the state with the abbreviation IO. It was really IA. He probably would have guessed Indiana too. Ha). Either way, it was a blast. We stayed at Brian and Elizabeth's for the most of the night watching some TV show out of Cardiff and just chatting in the living room and eating pizza. Bobby and I got to go on a walk and talk through my testimony as I was asked to share it this morning at the Rhydyfelen church service.

However! I must be getting to bed. I will get today's story up probably on Tuesday as I have to wake up and play with Riley in the morning!

Pray for my nose. While it is better on most days, it's a bit up and down. With the drop in temperature sometimes it gets a bit worse than normal. And thank you SO MUCH for your prayers for today. I was really, really nervous about giving my talk on Hebrews 12:1-2, but I got lots of good feedback afterward from the congregation. Thanks be to God that he used me today! There were also a lot of families there who I don't normally see on a sunday (Sarah, Leighton, Nonnie, Charys, Mary, and Sean were all there which was wonderful! I was hoping Joe's family and Abby's family would come but that didn't work out. Ah well). I'm just hoping that they wll continue to come and worship with us as the church is so important. It isn't just a check off their list because it's a time when we are gathered as a family of believers, as Christ's body and His bride. It's a time of fellowship and encouragement. It's just good. Pray for those families, that God would put a desire in their hearts to continue seeking accountability and growth.

Also, pray for Gateway. They are currently renting a building every sunday to meet. I know I spoke on this earlier because it makes it hard to invite people to church because they don't have a building. But I feel it even more so! That place is SO HORRIBLE to talk in. It's so echoey and loud and part of me felt like no one was paying attention because I could hardly hear myself! However, I am thankful they at least have somewhere to meet every week. But pray that God might grow their congregation and supply them the numbers and the ability to move into another building where they might grow and become a greater influence on the community at large (and have a place to store all their stuff! Claire's house is full. Pete has two rooms in his house full of church things. And poor Raf has no more space in his trunk because of all the youth stuff!).

Thanks be to God for his wonderful plans and his work. "For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works which he has already planned in advance for us to do."

Ta-Ta!
